book Fair with Tower Hill Church
A Blessing of Books
Since 1990, Tower Hill Church of New Jersey has supported ministry work in the Dominican Republic
Recognizing a need for greater access to books and libraries, the church organized its first team to host a book fair at Eva M. Russell School in 2008.
Sixteen years later, a dedicated team of six women returned to host book fairs at Eva May Russell School in Monte Plata and MIANCERG School in Santo Domingo.
The six dedicated women serving in the DR! Representing the partnership between Tower Hill Church and Kids Alive DR.
This year’s theme was “Under the Sea.”
Each year, the team spends months preparing for this special event—collecting hundreds of Spanish-language books for every grade level, carefully packing barrels full of books and supplies, and ensuring every child receives a personalized experience.
Each student selects two books to take home, complete with their own nameplates on the inside cover—a meaningful gift for a child who may be owning books for the first time.
Name plates being added to each book
In addition to selecting books, students learn a new song and participate in crafts with the team. The staff and teachers are also able to select a devotional book for themselves.
Singing and praying in Spanish
We are incredibly grateful for Tower Hill Church’s continued support as we celebrate the 19th book fair at our Kids Alive DR schools.
Please keep the team in your prayers as they have already begun preparations for next year’s fair!
